Glenn Randall

From the time he was a toddler, Glenn Randall was fascinated with horses. Born on Christmas Day, 1908, in Melbeta, Neb., he took a special interest in teaching the family horses tricks, such as lying down and sitting up. Randall sold his first trained pony to a traveling circus when he was just 9 years old. He went on to break and train horses for the cavalry and later joined Tim McCoy’s Wild West Show. Perhaps the most famous horse that Randall trained was Roy Rogers’ Trigger. That horse opened the doors to Hollywood and a long career training and providing animals for the movie industry. The Randall family and their famous trained horse acts became familiar sights on the rodeo trail, at fairs and horse shows throughout the United States and Canada. Randall was a nine-time winner of the Patsy Award sponsored by the American Humane Association. He passed away May 5, 1992.
